YW: What strategies have you found most effective for building trust and long-term relationships with clients?

ISHTIAQ: Over my 25-year professional journey, I have consistently focused on addressing my clients' problems and concerns wholeheartedly, without prioritising the financial aspects of my efforts. This approach has been central to building trust and long-term relationships.

I believe that genuine commitment, a positive attitude, respectful behaviour, and a touch of humour go a long way in fostering lasting connections. These values have helped me maintain strong client relationships, regardless of whether we are actively working together at a given time.

For me, it’s never been just about the transaction, but about creating enduring partnerships rooted in mutual respect, authenticity, and consistent support.

YW: What’s one unconventional approach you’ve taken in your practice that yielded surprising results?

ISHTIAQ: One unconventional approach I’ve taken in my practice is never limiting myself to conventional methods or relying solely on existing precedents to find solutions.

I believe that thinking outside the box allows for more innovative and tailored strategies, which has consistently yielded surprising results. This approach has significantly enhanced client satisfaction, as they feel heard and supported in a way that’s specific to their unique situation.

Most importantly, before I begin any legal discussion, I make it a point to understand the psychological aspect of my client. This helps me communicate more effectively and ensure that the advice I provide resonates with their needs, concerns, and overall perspective.
