YW: What strategies have you found most effective for building trust and long-term relationships with clients?
KAUSTUV: Thereโs no substitution for honesty, integrity, and practicality. No one wants to enter into a transaction or continue with legal proceedings unless they are commercially or financially feasible and sustainable. Therefore, the core question is always feasibility and sustainability.
Once this analysis is done with utmost honesty and professional integrity, trust naturally follows, and the relationship is likely to last long term.
I am not placing exclusive emphasis on knowledge, because thatโs a givenโ without domain specific knowledge, nothing can proceed. However, it is the honest, practical, and integrity-driven application of that knowledge that truly builds enduring client relationships.
YW: Whatโs one unconventional approach youโve taken in your practice that yielded surprising results?
KAUSTUV: One unconventional approach Iโve taken in my practice is to proactively move forward and handhold the client whenever itโs felt necessary. The professional approach, in my view, needs to be confident and optimistic.
I believe that along with optimism, there should always be a carefully analysed alternative plan โBโ ready. This ensures that things can move fast and time is not wasted deciding what to do in case of any surprise.
Clients appreciate this level of preparedness and support, and it has often led to more trust and quicker resolution. While this may seem outside the conventional approach, it has consistently yielded surprising and positive results in my practice.
